About Me

One night, when I was about three years old, my parents were reading “Frosty the Snowman” to me. In the story, Frosty’s hat blew off his head, and he chased it down the street. Adorable, precocious little me asked how—if his hat was what brought him to life—he could run after it if it blew away.

My parents’ assertion that I was a genius may have been overblown (as were their visions of the Little Golden Book scholarships that would follow their letter to the editor) but I did seem to have a knack for editing and writing that would grow over the years.

Eventually, it grew to a major in journalism at Rutgers University. While there, I became acquainted with the world of business, or trade, press through an internship with American Business Media, and have since spent my career writing about and editing such topics as insurance, private labels, commercial shipping, small business, and food and beverage. The latter is where I spent the bulk of my professional life, at the Specialty Food Association leading content offerings, including Specialty Food magazine, daily newsletters, trendspotting, annual research, industry resources, and education programming. Along the way my team and I even managed to win some awards, including the prestigious Jesse H. Neal Award, which recognizes excellence in specialized journalism.
